    Hi all!
I live in Perth, Australia. Originally from UK and love knitting!
was taught to knit at age 4 and my first project was a wee teddy - I was so proud of myself.

I love designing aran garments and the most challenging was an aran coat for a friend in the most beautiful rust colour.

on the pins: lilac and pink cardigan for my god daughter, another cardy for my tiny niece in Scotland, a crochet cushion cover and (sigh) the cosiest cream and brown oversized squares for a queen sized bed - this has been on the go for two years, I keep putting it down as the size gets to me.. any ideas for getting the inspiration going much needed!!!

have a great day everyone

Hi Karen,

I too am originally from the UK, South Wales, I emigrated to Adelaide with my family when I was 14 and have lived in Melbourne since I was 22.

I have knitted most of my life and my main ambition is to knit the Star coat by Kaffe Fassett, although I think I'd look a bit silly in it these days.

I am knitting stuff for a new baby due in December for my best friend's grand-daughter in South Wales.

I am also knitting other stuff as well.

It sounds like your an amazing knitter karen.

Cheers.

    hi Rose,

nice to hear from you.
It sounds like you are a colour working wizard Kaffee Fassett is awesome, he puts together the most amazing shapes and colours and it just works doesnt it? I first saw his designs about 23 years ago when I bought my first Rowan magazine.. and how cool are the Rowan designers?
My favourite childrens designer is Debbie Bliss.

So whats the weather like at the moment? Its been sunny here today and I was able to get out for a couple of walks with the dogs.
I popped round to see my mum who is knitting me cushion covers for all my lounges. She got bitten by the bug when I decided to knit and crochet her some covers for her family room, she has a lovely corner unit with a dozen cushions, all soft and cosy. So easy to fall asleep on... as all the family (and her dog) can attest to!

take care
Karen

Hi Karen,

You know what the weather is like in Melbourne bloody awful, I was at my Mum's in Adelaide last week and it wasn't much better there either.

The first time I saw Kaffe Fassett's stuff was when he brought out that first book and I was absolutely hooked.

Yeah Rowan has some stunning stuff but I reckon their magazines are a bit on the pricey side, even though I buy all the English and Aussie magazines.

That is something I have never been able to do is crochet, I am going to try and get some lessons, as it looks like its going to be the next big thing, besides I think it would make a largish dent in my stash as it seems to be a lot quicker than knitting.

What a lovely Mum you have knitting you cushion covers, unfortunately my Mum can't knit anymore because of her arthritis, she really misses it.

I love that wool shop you have in WA its called the Woolshack I buy a lot of my stuff from there and was lucky enough to buy a Jordana Paige knitting bag when it was on special, I am now waiting for the satchel to be on special, I keep looking but so far no good.

Lovely to hear from you.
